Along
with a world-class Hot Air Balloon Festival, the 2007 Summer Heat Air Festival
will include one of the midwest's finest airshows in the region.
Continuing on the success of the 2006 event, the Muncie Visitor's Bureau along
with David Schultz Airshows LLC have teamed up once again to bring some of the
best aerobatic performances to central Indiana.
It's so MUCH MORE than just an airshow......
Headlining the 2007 event will be the USAF F-16 West Coast Demonstration Team from Hill AFB, Utah. They will be joined in the air with a vintage aircraft at the conclusion of their demonstration in the USAF Heritage Flight.
Returning to the Summer Heat Air Festival from their 2005 debut will be the US Army Golden Knights Parachute Team. They will perform twice per day by participating in our opening ceremonies as well as towards the end of the daily flying with their full demonstration of precision parachute jumping.
Civilian performances will include some of the best aerobatic performers today and JETS! JETS! JETS! That's right ---- 3 different civilian JET demonstrations! We have Chris Rounds in his T-33 Shooting Star, David Burdine in the Squadron 17 MiG-17, and an L-29 Delphin Demonstration. In 2006, the public asked for JETS for 2007 and the 2007 airshow will be no disappointment.
We
also have three wonderful civilian propeller aerobatic performers.
Two of the best in the world today, Greg Poe and Tim Weber will be performing
daily. Greg Poe is in the FAGEN sponsored "Ethanol Kicks Gas"
Ethanol powered Edge 540. Geico will be sponsoring Tim Weber
in his Extra 300. A crowd favorite in 2005, we are happy to have Tim
back this year and welcome Greg to his first Summer Heat Air
Festival. Returning from 2006, will also be a crowd favorite
with local aerobatic pilot John Black in his Super Decathlon. His
great demonstration shows the basic characteristics of aerobatic flight with
interaction from you, the airshow crowd. So come out and help John with
his daily aerobatic routine.
The Red Stars YAK Formation team
will also be at Muncie this year with nearly a dozen CJ-6 and YAK 52 aircraft in
various formation flights and a solo aerobatic demonstration.
Static Display aircraft will include the Commemorative Air Force with their
Junkers JU-52 and Douglas C-47 Skytrain. We also will have a vintage and beautifully restored HU-16 Albatross,
several CJ-6A and YAK 52 aircraft, and FEDEX with one
of the Cessna 208B Caravans. The Hoosier Air Museum will also be in
attendance with one of their aircraft as well. We expect several
military aircraft on display too.
Along with Corvette, Harley Davidson, and Dodge Viper clubs and vintage military
armor, there is something for everyone this weekend in Muncie. Flying
starts at noon each day and continues until 4pm. Starting at 4pm, musical
entertainment starts on center stage. Amusement rides operate all day
long.
This family oriented community event is one not to miss on Father's Day Weekend 2007.
