
The
Dominican Air Force will celebrate 60 years during the weekend airshow on 16-17
February 2008 at the San Isidro Air Base. This event will be the first
public opening of the Air Base since the November 2002 event and will feature
aircraft from all over the world.
Headlining the event will be the United States Air Force's F-16C Fighting Falcon
West Coast Demonstration Team from Hill Air Force Base, Utah. Other
military performances from the United States will include the US Coast Guard in
their HH-65 Dauphin helicopter. Civilian performers from the United States
will include Rob Holland in the MX-2, Fred Cabanas in the Pitts S2C, and the Aerostars YAK52
demonstration team. Curt Arnspiger will also be doing a demo in his Saeta
Jet!
The Dominican Air Force will also participate with their CASA 212 aircraft, their newly acquired Tucano aircraft, and Huey and Kiowa helicopters. Helicopter demonstration by thee FAD will include multiple ship flybys by UH-1N and UH-1H Hueys, S333 Enstroms, and OH-58A Kiowas. The afternoon will start with a 60-man parachute jump by the Dominican Air Force and Army to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the FAD.
Static Displays will include numerous civilian
and military aircraft from the Dominican Air Force and other Caribbean nations
as well as numerous aircraft from the United States. The United
States military will be providing KC-135R Stratotanker
aerial refueling aircraft, the workhorse C-130H
Hercules transport aircraft, and F-16C Falcon fighter
aircraft. The United States Coast Guard will also be providing an HH-65C Dauphin
Search & Rescue Demonstration as well. The Brazilian Military will
also be providing several Super Tucano aircraft for display as well.
