Please note that McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport (KMKL) is tower controlled on 127.15 Mhz. All aircraft approaching within 5 NM of the airport should be talking with Jackson Approach Control prior to entering the airspace around the Airport.
UHF only aircraft should communicate with Flight Services on 255.4 for clearances to the airport in Jackson. UHF only aircraft shall stay clear of McKellar-Sipes Airport until given clearance by Flight Services for permission to land. Flight Services has a direct line with the McKellar-Sipes Airport Tower. All UHF aircraft will be granted priority ONE arrivals into the airport.
The main runway at Jackson is 2/20 (6008 ft. long) All taxiways are expected to be open during the event.
Once you have landed at the airport, you will be handed off to an airshow ground frequency (120.9 Mhz) for parking instructions. Please remain this Frequency for the remainder of your taxi unless instructed by the Tower or ground control.
We do not plan to tow any aircraft. We plan on taxiing you to your parking location and you will also be able to start engines in the same location. At both times, you must have marshallers and ground support available.
PPRs are NOT Required to land at this airport.
The airport will be closed for 5NM Radius of the airport from the surface to 5,000 ft. AGL during the following periods.
